ELECTIONS COMING UP!

It’s that time of the semester again! LSO officers elected this December will serve for the Spring semester 2007. This is a great opportunity to work within an organization, and to meet other SIRLS students. Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know for one of the following LSO positions:

President/ALA Liaison
Vice President/Treasurer
Secretary
Faculty/Student Liaison
Program Coordinator
Social Activities Coordinator
Jobs Coordinator
Webmaster/Listserv Manager
Fundraising Coordinator
Distance Student Liaison
BiblioTech Editor
Alumni Liaison

As you can see, there are a variety of positions, all of which are open to any current SIRLS student. Many of these positions are open, so nominate yourself or someone you know today! Just send Rebecca an e-mail with the name and position. If you are nominating yourself, please include a brief statement of interest; this will then be posted during election week (next week!). If you have already been nominated, remember to send me your statement to be entered in the election!!

AzLA Reception!

*Opening Reception, November 15th*

For those who are going to the AzLA meeting, especially those who are in the greater Phoenix Area, there will be a great networking opportunity at the AzLA reception on Wednesday, November 15th from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Pre-registration is not required and proceeds from the $5 admission will be used to support the work of the Arizona Library Association in promoting and improving library service and librarianship in Arizona.

Even if you cannot make it to the conference, this is a great way to network with library professionals, see vendor exhibits, and meet Arizona Authors.

This is a prime venue to meet your classmates and get a taste of the conference. While you are at the reception, pick up an AzLA Student sticker!
